Today is about her, Denise Fouracre, the woman that saw something in me 4 years ago and has decided to give me a chance, took me under her wing and shared her wedding/life knowledge with me.
When I met her, The Wedding Zone was her baby and Melbourne gardens her playground. She taught me all about park permits, ceremonies, dealing with difficult clients and suppliers, how to get rid of curious tourists that want to blend in with the wedding party and most importantly how to laugh when things get ‘complicated’. She has introduced me to everyone in the wedding industry that crossed our path and today I still go to her when I need advice or a good laugh. She is my mentor, my friend and I will always say ‘thank you’ because she believed in me.
Wedding PA is her business now and you can find her here.
P.S. Coffee is her power.
Enjoy!
1. Why the business name? Give me the truth. (I want the real deal, not the confetti covered answer)
Wedding PA – This business name seemed like the best “fit” as my business was transitioning from The Wedding Zone to Weddings of Distinction, who purchased our business in 2018. As my new role covered so many areas of expertise I wanted to ensure that the transitional business name reflected the variation in work (Mentoring, content writing, blogging, social media and venue work). I also continue to take private recommendations for coordination of outdoor weddings, which continues to be my area of expertise.

6. Recommend me one restaurant in the city
Anything Chinese or Malaysian. I have favourite coffee spots but there are far too many to name.
7. If you could have a song play every time you enter a room, what would it be?
That would be like asking me to choose a favourite child. I love all music except Jazz so maybe don’t play Jazz when i enter the room. I would roll my eyes (as per Q2).
8. What’s the weirdest thing a guest has done at your house?
The family home in NZ – the first year I took Pete home to meet my folks, we got up on Christmas morning and found a stranger fast asleep under our Christmas tree. We made coffee, sat around and waited for him to wake up. No harm done, just a very embarrassed teenager on his way home from a party.
9. Why is it that when things get wet they get darker, even if though water is clear?
I am still the same colour when i get out of the shower so i will go out on a limb here and say “that is not a totally accurate observation”
10. What sport would be the funniest to add a mandatory amount of alcohol to?
Curling & Luge
11. What set of items could you buy that would make the cashier the most uncomfortable?

13. You Have Seven Dollars And Five Minutes At The Grocery Store. What Do You Buy?

14. If roses are red, why are violets blue?
Violets are blue because they can never be a Rose
15 If you could pick a country to live in any other than Australia, what would that be and why?
New Zealand will always have a piece of my heart. I had a very good upbringing, my parents were incredible humans and my (very extensive family) reside there. I would always choose home.
Do you have a mentor? Leave me a comment and tell me who is it and why.
Wondering who my next guest will be? Soon you’ll find out!
Love,
Alex
