Your Rehearsal Dinner is held after your Ceremony rehearsal and usually it is an intimate gathering having your families, bridal party and out of town guests invited. It is the perfect time to spend with your close family, considering that next day everyone will want a piece of you. You can have the Rehearsal Dinner at a restaurant close by to the Ceremony location or if the space allows it, in either your parents or your home.

Who pays for it? If we go by tradition then it’s the groom’s parents but nowadays a lot has changed and this can be done by the couple or both families. Really it all depends on the conversation held when planning it.

P.S. Look out for your alcohol intake –  you have a big day the next day and this can ruin everything for you.

Day 2: Wedding Day

Well, we all know what’s happening on  that day. You’re getting married!!!!!!!

Day 3: Recovery Brunch – Hair of the Dog

This event is starting to get really popular. Perfect time to cure that hangover while sipping from your favourite cocktail, go through all the funny photos and stories from the night before and having a good laugh with all your partners in crime. Bloody Mary, please!

 

 

 

This event is usually very casual, considering that some of your guests might be a bit ‘delicate’. Who is invited? Anyone you want but again consider the costs when doing that.

 

 

 

 

Where to host it? At your favourite restaurant or pub, at the restaurant of the hotel where most of your out of town guests are staying  at or someone’s house.

#2 Understand that the costs might go up – You want more, you’ll spend more, so make sure you add some extra $$$ in your savings account or discuss with both families to understand if they are willing to support some of the costs. Using someone’s house can save you money on things like the minimum spend required by some venues or on the cost for food and beverage.

 

 

#3 Hire a wedding planner  (Hello, have we met?) – as you know, planning your wedding day only, can be overwhelming let alone an entire weekend. A wedding planner can do anything from booking all the locations for you, organising the weekend running schedule in great detail, booking all the suppliers, helping you out with your budget, ideas in saving money, invoices, all the reminders and  really these are just a  few of the tasks provided.
